About this tool

URLs may only contain a limited set of ASCII characters; everything else — spaces, accents, &, ? inside values — must be percent-encoded (a space becomes %20). Use component mode (default) for individual query-string values, or “full URL” mode to encode a whole address while keeping its structure.

FAQ

Is my data sent to a server?

No. DevKnife tools run entirely in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing you paste — API keys, tokens, customer data — is transmitted or logged, so it is safe for production data.

What is the difference between encodeURI and encodeURIComponent?

encodeURIComponent escapes everything except letters, digits and - _ . ! ~ * ' ( ), so it is right for single parameter values. encodeURI keeps characters like : / ? & = that structure a full URL.
